I feel like last year was full of both successes and failures. But I also learned a lot, and grew a lot.
I also ran 7+ races last year. 3 half marathons, 2 trail races, and 2 road races. As a result, I lost weight and started eating and drinking healthier. And ultimately, I felt more natural energy throughout the day. I can’t begin to tell you how good that feels.
As I get ready for the year ahead looking at what I want to accomplish there’s lots to be done but I’m excited for the road ahead… I’ve chosen the following 3 words to guide my actions in everything that I do moving forward.
Create
I’ve created a lot of content over the years. Through webinars, blog posts, podcasts, and videos. That content hasn’t always resided here on my blog, I created that content for my employer at the time.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s good content that people continue to read and find useful today. I know that because I still get emails saying thanks for the tutorial or asking a follow up question to a post.
This year, I want to focus on creating more of that content here on the blog. Not writing for the sake of writing, but to teach.
I want to focus on creating daily. Teaching daily. And putting my best foot forward to do what I do best … Teach real estate professionals how to master the web.
Service
In addition to launching a couple of web design projects I soft-launched my new business in December. Not bad for a slow month. But I also know that those results were due to the brand and reputation I’ve built over the years helping real estate agents.
In order to continue to be successful, I have to put a high level of service behind everything that I do. So all of my training, design, and consulting will be backed by exceptional customer service. It’s the only way that my business will continue to grow.
Ship
I spent a lot of time in September and October outlining ideas for my next project. Then in December, I launched inside of two weeks. In my opinion, all of that took too long.
Why the delay? Fear. Doubt. Uncertainty. Indecisiveness.
What happened instead was the business model proved itself and was a raging success.
So this year I need to worry less about whether something will work or not and focus instead on shipping. Don’t wait until it’s perfect… Just ship it.
What about you?
What will drive your decisions in 2014? What do you hope to accomplish? What’s are your 3 words that will guide your actions this year?

You’ve got some great goals set for the year. If I picked three words for this year they would be: generosity, compassion, and intentional.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

I like those Joan! The more generous your are with your community, the more you’ll get back in return.
