Starting one thing after another doesn’t make you committed. Trying one new app after another doesn’t always improve your technical skill-sets (it confuses them). Joining one new social network after another doesn’t make you a digital all-star. To the contrary, it detracts from your focus.
Identify your hub and one or two outposts (tools to deliver your message) and focus your efforts there. Identify the things that diffuse your focus and eliminate those activities. Focus instead on building an action-oriented agenda and make progress if even just little by little, day by day.
Shiny Object Syndrome is the preventer of progress. You don’t need to be everywhere all of the time. You just need better filters.
