Too often, it’s easy to get stuck behind the computer cooped up in our offices day-in and day-out. Tweeting away. Updating our Facebook. Chatting on Skype (gchat, AIM, etc.). Connecting digitally but failing to connect #IRL (“in real life”). Don’t get me wrong, social media is great. It connects us to a wider audience and a diverse group of people that we might otherwise not have been exposed to. I’ve met tons of people at Tweetups. Connected with folks through Facebook events. And I’m happy to say that out of hundreds of LinkedIn connections, I’ve shook hands with most of them.
