I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Wendy Forsythe from Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate at this years NAR Conference in San Diego. I’ve given plenty of presentations on Blogging As a Strategic Real Estate Marketing Tool and I shared some of those thoughts here. I think blogging is great for several reasons:
- Branding: the challenge for any agent today is “how do I stand out in a crowded marketplace?” With the proper design, and the right content, you can position yourself and your brand as the Go To person for real estate sales in a particular marketplace. Two great examples of that are The Phoenix Real Estate Guy and Miamism. When somebody talks about Phoenix or Miami real estate, I immediately think of these two because they’ve done an excellent job branding themselves.
- Search Engine Marketing: blogs are GREAT for SEO. Every time you write a new post, you create a new unique page on your site. The more pages Google has, the more your site shows up in the search engine results pages (SERPs) for the keyword phrases you’re looking to capture.
- Lead Generation: every real estate blog should have some sort of IDX embedded on it’s site to give consumers the ability to search for homes on the MLS like a REALTOR®. With the right kind of capture forms and with the right kind of content, your site can serve as an effective prospecting/lead generation engine.
We can go on and on talking about the benefits of blogging and the tools that work best, but for now, here are some thoughts as shared through the interview.
Do YOU have a blog? How has it benefitted you and your business?
