On Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, I came to a realization and made a pretty big decision … I’m an entrepreneur. I always have been and I always will be.
On Thanksgiving day I had breakfast with my mom and my girlfriend and told them what I wanted to do. (They’re my best cheerleaders). And after spending the rest of the day with my brothers, I drove home and got to work.
I worked on finishing up a design project and then I spent the rest of every day writing, sketching, building, recording. Lots of Rockstar, a 12-pack of Diesel Brew and a couple of all-nighters were involved.
(I sketched out what I wanted my sales page to look like in my moleskine notebook)
(Once I had my PowerPoint presentations built, I scripted what I wanted to talk about and got busy recording)
After several long days and nights, I wanted to see if my business idea had wings …
Earlier this week I beta launched the first new business project that I’m working on. It’s called Content Smarts and it’s now available to a limited group of beta members (charter members) who want to focus on building a better web presence for their real estate business next year. I’ve done a lot of coaching and strategizing over the years … this is a culmination of all of those years of training agents how to be successful.

My Soft-Launch Schedule
I say “soft launch” because I wasn’t expecting to do anything big. But here’s how things went down …
Friday: I sent out an email hinting at the new course asking people to subscribe to a different launch list email.
Sunday: I sent an email with the subject line: Content Smarts opens tomorrow (important details here).
Monday: On the previous day’s email I had promised that registration would open at 9:00am Pacific. But I had some delays and subsequent emails from folks…
I delayed the registration announcement email because something in the registration process just wasn’t working and I couldn’t figure out what. As it turns out, I simply forgot to switch out my test API keys for the live API keys (doh!).
Once that was fixed and the registration email went out, you just sit there and wait. Not more than 3 minutes later, the first two registration emails came in …
But enough about launching this thing, let’s talk about what Content Smarts is about …
First Things First – What Is It?
(Note: I say “we” instead of “I” a lot below. By “we,” I mean myself and the designer and other guests I have helping me deliver these resources to you).
Content Smarts is a membership program designed to teach you how to plan, execute, and optimize an effective online marketing strategy for your real estate business. We’ll achieve that goal through a combination of resources:
- Technical How To – our short video tutorials are for the do-it-yourselfer … We’ll teach you how to get up and running with your new WordPress website, fast.
- Strategy Webinars – it’s nice when you have a shiny new website, but it’s even better when you know what to do with it. Our monthly webinars are designed to teach you the strategies for making the most of the tools you’re currently using. We’ll talk about how to generate more IDX registrations, how to create a good internal link structure, and more.
- Monthly Feedback – We’re not just teaching you this stuff, we want to help you execute and hold you accountable along the way. We’ll do this by providing you with Action Step Worksheets designed to guide you on what to do next after every webinar and by giving you access to monthly live Q&A calls and an exclusive-membership forum so you can get feedback not just from me, but from other members who are putting these strategies into practice.

Who It’s For
If you don’t have a real estate blog yet, and you’re just in the research phase … Content Smarts is for you.
Content Smarts is designed with beginners and intermediates in mind. Not only will you learn how to get started with WordPress, we’ll be showing you real strategies that are working right now for other professionals in the field.
We have advanced topics on our agenda, but we know that the people that will benefit the most from what we have to offer are those that are just getting started.
Who It’s Not For
This isn’t for the agent who is tired of doing things themselves and what’s it done for them. We’re teaching you the strategies that you need to implement to build a higher converting website, but ultimately it’s up to you to execute.
Special Offer
Want to be one of the first to try the new program? As mentioned, Content Smarts isn’t for everyone and yes, this is a bit of pre-sale … Videos and audio interviews are still being edited and uploaded. We’re rewarding you for getting in early (see Charter Member pricing below), but we’d also like your feedback on shaping the direction of our advanced training.
You can help us by answering questions like: what are you struggling with in your business right now? What (specifically) do you want to learn?
Registration is open to the first 50 members and those 50 only. In doing so we’ll have the opportunity to work more intimately with a smaller group, help fix any bugs that might be present, and in doing so, help turn Content Smarts into the best online marketing resource for your real estate business.
Beta/Charter Member Pricing
Content Smarts membership is just $25/month (billed annually at $300). You get a 3-part content marketing crash course, ongoing monthly webinars, monthly Q&A’s, exclusive audio seminars, full forum access, and more.
