Starting a real estate career can be very exciting and highly lucrative. But it can also be extremely challenging.
It’s just like starting any other kind of business.
At the end of the day you’re responsible for generating your own clients and meeting your financial obligations, both personal and business related.
Some people find a rhythm. Others don’t.
And that’s where a business coach comes in (or in this case, a real estate coach).
A seasoned real estate coach can help you put systems in place to help you effectively grow your business. They can also help you move past any self-imposed barriers giving you accolades when you succeed and holding you accountable when you’re not doing what you’re supposed to.
While hiring a coach won’t guarantee your success, hiring a coach can prove to be very effective.
Here are three big reasons to consider hiring a business coach …
1. Clear vision and business plan
A seasoned real estate coach can help you develop a business plan and roadmap for success whether it’s your first year in real estate or your fifth.
Sure, we all want to “make more money” and “be successful.” But what does that really mean, anyway?
Simply saying “I want to make more money” isn’t much of a game plan. Sure, we all want to make more money, but how is the question that needs to be answered.
Developing a business plan that says “I want to make $150,000 from these 4 lead sources” is a much more effective game plan. Once you know your target revenue goal you can reverse engineer your revenue goal to determine how many leads you need to generate.
2. Accountability
When you work for yourself there’s nobody looking over your shoulder to see if you’re doing the work. You have the freedom to make your own hours and schedule your week around whatever activities you decide to engage in.
Usually, a lack of discipline accompanies all of that freedom. You know what you should be working on but you waste away the day focusing on activities that aren’t quite “revenue producing” activities like checking Facebook.
Hiring a real estate coach means you have someone there checking in on you to make sure you’re hitting your contact goals daily, weekly, and monthly.
3. Skills Acceleration
Working with a coach is the fastest way to accelerate your skills and thus, your success.
I ran my first half marathon in 2h:36min – it was pretty brutal. Shortly thereafter, I started training. And two months in, I hired a running coach. My coach helped me develop a proper training schedule, a proper nutrition schedule, and she helped me work on my form.
I ran my next half marathon in 1h:51min.
Needless to say all of that training with my running coach helped!
Working with a coach whether it’s sports or business is the best way to accelerate your success and achieve the best results because a coach will help you develop the skills necessary to succeed.
A real estate coach will help you:
- Set revenue goals and develop a proper business plan
- Stay accountable by focusing on the right metrics
- Develop the skills necessary to close more deals (whether it’s working online leads, working with buyers, or working with sellers)
