So my friend is building a Social Media Library for herself and I told her I’d email her some recommendations (books I’ve read and/or am reading). She responded with this tweet asking what books I might recommend for beginners. Here are some of my recommendations… They include:
- Permission Marketing: Turning Strangers Into Friends and Friends Into Customers by Seth Godin
- Duct Tape Marketing: the World’s Most Practical Small Business Marketing Guide by John Jantsch
- Once You’re Lucky, Twice You’re Good by Sarah Lacy
Now I read a lot (evidence here). Is there anything that YOU recommend to the social media newbie? Drop a comment below with your suggestion(s) and tell us why you liked reading that particular book (or blog; they count too).

Nice, good suggestions. Seth Godin is a must read for anyone trying to get into anything to do with marketing.
