Some days I can crank out 2-3 blog posts (or thorough outlines) in a day. Others, I’m stuck there wondering what to write about next. It’s like I’m staring endlessly into the internet abyss (c’mon, I bet you know the feeling).
For me, I need to mix things up. Change my atmosphere. Try new things. Find ways to stimulate my brain. And that’s where today’s video comes in…
29 WAYS TO STAY CREATIVE from TO-FU on Vimeo.
Which one strikes you the most?

Great video (but why no credit to the creator?) – I think my favorite is “Stop beating yourself up”…I’m learning that one slowly but surely!

Hey Kirsten,
Thanks for that… It wasn’t on purpose, I must have stripped the credit links from the embed code when I was uploading it (corrected now).
As for your favorite, heck, I think we all do that. Sometimes we realize it, sometimes we don’t. It’s the inner critic in us. The need to have everything be perfect. The desire to want to do more. That can be crippling – big time.
It’s a lesson I’ve learned with a few gentle reminders from people I’m glad to call friends.
Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you enjoyed the video!

I think drinking coffee, taking breaks, and reading a page of the dictionary are the ideas I liked the best. Also, if you can break up your time in 2 hour blocks, focusing on 1 thing during each block, you can accomplish a lot!

Hey Jeffry,
Definitely with you on the coffee. Though we have a fridge full of Redbull and Monster here, no coffee (how that works, I have no idea). But every other day, I”ll take a break from the office, and drive over to the local cafe and get an Americano, sit outside and just soak up some sun. It’s the best kind of break!
As for time-blocking, I don’t do hourly blocks. But I do set my timer in 30 minute intervals and tackle projects that way. I started doing that about 6 months ago and I can’t begin to tell you how effective it is! Though I think you already know that 🙂

I like your thoughts, and I love coffee!!!

Espresso with two brown sugars for me. Yep, I’m addicted to caffeine.
